These terms are an agreement between you and MaxeSoft (“we”, “us”), the publisher of TeaderBook (the “app”). By installing or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
The short version. TeaderBook is a reading tool for books you bring yourself; they stay yours and stay on your phone. Translations come from machines and are sometimes wrong. The subscription is optional, billed and renewed by Google Play or the Apple App Store, and cancelled there. When it ends, the app keeps working with the free allowance and nothing you saved is lost.
TeaderBook is a personal reading tool. It opens FB2 and EPUB files that you supply and helps you understand them by translating a tapped word or sentence and by keeping a vocabulary you can review. It is not a bookstore and it distributes no books, apart from a few public-domain titles included so there is something to read on first launch.
You are responsible for the files you import and for having the right to use them. Your books, notes and vocabulary remain yours; we claim no ownership over them and, as the Privacy Policy explains, we never receive them.
Translations and grammar explanations are produced by machine translation and AI models. They are frequently useful and occasionally wrong. Do not rely on them for anything where an error matters — legal, medical, financial or safety-related text included.
Offline words has no limit. Offline translation and Smart translation are free up to a daily allowance each, which we may change at any time. You agree not to attempt to bypass the allowance or the app-integrity checks, not to access our server other than through the app, and not to use the service to send bulk or automated volumes of text.
TeaderBook Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription, offered monthly and yearly. It lifts the daily allowances of Offline translation and Smart translation, subject to the fair-use rules in section 4, and includes the features the app marks as part of it, such as the sentence breakdown. Reading, importing books, Offline words, the dictionary and review sessions never require it.
If you got the app from the Apple App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to you, and where it and these terms conflict about your licence to use the app, that agreement prevails. If you got it from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service apply to your purchase. Apple and Google are not parties to these terms and are not responsible for the app or for supporting it.
An account is optional. You are responsible for the security of the Google or Apple account you sign in with. You can delete your account from inside the app at any time — here is how. We may suspend an account that is being used to abuse the service.
The app's name, interface, design, artwork and code are the property of MaxeSoft. The app includes third-party open-source components; their licences are listed inside the app and their terms govern those components.
Reading, Offline translation and Offline words work without a network. Smart translation depends on our server and on Google's API, and we do not guarantee that either is available at any given moment. When they are not, the app falls back to one of the offline methods.
The app is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that your data is safe from device failure, loss or accidental deletion — everything the app stores lives on your device, so keep your own copies of anything important.
To the extent permitted by law, MaxeSoft is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, for lost data, or for any decision made on the basis of a translation the app produced. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, and your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected.
You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend access to the server-backed features if these terms are broken.
We may revise these terms; the date at the top shows when. Material changes will be announced in the app or in the store release notes. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the revised terms.
